I pledge:

  • To follow a generally accepted curriculum.
  • I review the student's performance and plan each training session to maximized performance and learning opportunities.
  • To schedule adequate time for and conduct a thorough briefing before and after each training session.
  • To conduct the flight as planned and briefed, with exception for deviations to accommodate weather or student training needs.
  • To demonstrate maneuvers to the student whenever necessary and appropriate, but with the goal to maximize the training opportunities for the student.
  • To assess student performance and respond as needed to shorten lessons for student comfort.
  • To maintain proficiency in maneuvers that are being trained.
  • To prepare student records/logbook entries in a timely manner.
  • To discuss student performance with only that student except to discuss teaching techniques with other instructors or to seek assistance for the purpose of improving student performance.
  • To constantly improve my own capabilities and opportunities for learning.
